USA vs. Haudenosaunee Tonight
Two undefeated teams play in one of the tourney's best early matchups
June 24, Saturday — Two undefeated teams will meet tonight as the United States (2-0) takes on the Haudenosaunee Nationals (1-0) in San Diego on ESPN+ at 10:00 PM ET. The U.S. defeated Canada, 7-5, on Wednesday in what is widely expected to be a preview of the championship match. They then went on to defeat Australia, 12-3, to move to 2-0.
The Nationals handily defeated England, 18-5, in their opener. Both teams play in ‘Pool A’ the most competitive of the six five-team pools that comprise the championships. Pool A also contains England, Australia, and Canada. Following pool play, which concludes on Monday, a series of seeded matchups are held (based partially on pool strength) and concludes with the championship game and bronze medal game on Saturday, July 1.
A Haudenosaunee victory would be an upset as the Nationals vie to advance upon their place internationally just behind the U.S. and Canada while broadening a gap ahead of Australia and England. They captured the bronze at the 2018 championships in Netanya, Israel.
